Big Cheese with Christina Caplice, The Byron at Byron Resort & Spa!

We chat with Christina Caplice, Guest Relations Manager, The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa in this week’s Big Cheese interview.

The great thing about my job is…”People”,  and never knowing what each day will bring/ Or traveling the globe without leaving home –through the people I meet!

The challenge for industry is… to embrace change and work together to meet the shifting demands and needs of our astute travellers

My greatest achievement is…my natural love and care for people

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… great news for Regional NSW Destinations with the  Government announcement for investing 43 million over 4 years to boost business, including meetings.

I try to relax by… by taking a few minutes out during my day to be still

I don’t understand why… in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry we do not collaborate more with each other.

My favourite venue is…natures backdrop from the deck at The Byron at Byron

I’ve always wanted to travel to …the part of Ireland and Lebanon that holds some of my families history

I am scared to death of… I am not really scared of death!

I can’t live without… love & cheekiness

I really wish I had… more opportunity to travel the world and share our product and warmth of service.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…Meryl Streep, Olly White, Marie Bashir and my seven year old Charlotte

For anyone starting out in the industry one piece of advice I’d give would be ….be open to learning, be patient and know the gold you bring to the job !
