Tigerair Australia introduces interest free payment option
Tigerair Australia customers are now able to book travel today and cover the cost later, with the airline announcing an Interest Free payment option when purchasing fares and optional extras at tigerair.com.au.
The new payment option is available to all existing and new Latitude Financial Services customers. Latitude customers spending over $250 with Tigerair are able to pay off their airfare and any optional extras Interest Free over a 6-month period, while Latitude customers spending over $500 are able to pay over 12 months Interest Free.
Latitude customers will be charged an additional $10 if they wish to use the Interest Free payment option when booking with Tigerair.
To purchase fares and add-ons using the Latitude Interest Free option, customers simply select their flights and optional extras on the Tigerair desktop site and select the ‘Interest Free’ option on the payment page. Customers will then be prompted to enter their Latitude account details and select their preferred Interest Free term*.
AirAsia’s Network-wide Mega Sale is back
Low-cost carrier AirAsia is again offering its extremely popular Mega Sale fares to Asia from Australia from as low as $95* one-way for a limited time.
Travellers can fly to Kuala Lumpur from Perth from $99*; from Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne from $149*, and from Gold Coast to Auckland from $119* per person, one-way.
Some onwards one-way fares from Kuala Lumpur to Asian destinations are priced from as little as $4* one-way. Fares are available to Bali one-way from Perth from $105* and from Darwin from $95*.
The Mega Sale fares are available for booking from 5 September 2016 to 11 September 2016 with the fares valid for travel from 6 February 2017 to 28 October 2017. Bookings to www.airasia.com
AirAsia X Chief Executive Officer Benyamin Ismail said the Mega Sale was a great opportunity for travellers to book early and receive some great discounts on travel for most of 2017.
Cathay Pacific launches non-stop flight to London Gatwick on the airbus a350
Cathay Pacific Airways operated a near-full flight on its brand-new, state-of-the-art Airbus A350 aircraft from Hong Kong International Airport to London’s Gatwick Airport on 2 September 2016 – the latest destination in the airline’s expanding network. Flight CX343 departed Hong Kong at 00:55 and arrived at Gatwick Airport on schedule at 06:30 local time.
Prior to the subsequent departure of Flight CX344, the first Cathay Pacific flight from Gatwick to Hong Kong, a ceremony was organised at the boarding gate to celebrate the special occasion with the airline’s passengers. CX344 departed Gatwick Airport with more than 90 per cent of seats filled.
The new four-times weekly service between Hong Kong and Gatwick is ideally placed to serve both leisure and business travellers. With a real focus on providing passengers with more choice and flexibility, Cathay Pacific now provides 39 non-stop flights to the United Kingdom per week, including five daily services to Heathrow and four weekly flights to Manchester.
Fiji Airways launches 1.3% surcharge on credit card bookings
Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, is advising its customers that in accordance with new rules for credit card transactions in Australia, all credit card bookings now incur a 1.3% charge.
This change, which is in line with Australian Competition and Commerce Commission directives, replaces the previous practice of a AU$10 flat fee. The 1.3% credit card fee came into effect on September 1st, 2016.
Air China adds more routes
Air China is increasing flights on new routes in the next few months to emphasize Air China’s network to Australia, Europe & America.
From 12 November 2016, Air China will launch new route from Sydney to Chengdu direct, operating three flights per week. Chengdu is Air China’s 2nd biggest hub; after the launch of Chengdu-Frankfurt and Chengdu-Paris flights, the new route of Chengdu – Sydney is Air China’s third intercontinental flight from Chengdu hub, and is also the first nonstop service between western China and Oceania.
From 21 September 2016, Air China will launch a new route from Beijing to Warsaw, a direct service with four flights a week.
Since 1 September 2016, Air China launched a new route from Shanghai to San Jose in the States, a direct service operating three flights per week.
With Air China’s current route from Sydney and Melbourne to Beijing and Shanghai directly, Air China is able to connect you to 17 cities in Europe and 9 destinations of North America.
