Garuda Indonesia, the airline of Indonesia, launched its Online Travel Fair on May 3. Fares across the entire network are on sale with discounts of up to 20 per cent on year-round fares in both Economy and Business Class and some mixed class fares on selected routes.

In market for less than a week, the GOTF ends on Wednesday 09 May 2018 and is valid for travel from 06 May 2018 to 31 March 2019. All Garuda Indonesia fares include award winning five-star service, spacious seats, in-flight entertainment, meals and beverages and checked luggage of 30kg for economy and 40kg for business PLUS an additional 23kg for sporting equipment.

All fares are commissionable and are eligible for Garuda Miles. Return Economy Class fares to Bali start from $425 per person and are subject to availability.

World’s first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner touches down in Australia

Singapore Airlines flight SQ223 touched down in Perth today at 14:21pm marking the world’s first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner flight to Australia. Perth has become just the second destination in the world, behind Osaka Japan, to welcome the newest member of the Dreamliner family for regular scheduled services.

Singapore Airlines’ Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Mr Philip Goh, said the deployment of the 787-10 to Perth, the first Australian city to welcome the new Dreamliner, is a testament to the Airline’s longstanding connection to the city.

Passengers travelling on the inaugural flight from of Perth yesterday to Singapore were treated to pleasant surprises at check-in and boarding. A string quartet from the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), an organisation proudly supported by Singapore Airlines for the past six years, entertained customers who were also served light refreshments. Premium passengers in the Airline’s SilverKris Lounge enjoyed a magical atmosphere, thanks to a harpist from WASO.

From today onwards, the 787-10 will be deployed to operate SQ215 departing Singapore at 18:45 and arriving in Perth at 23:55, before turning around and operating as SQ216 departing Perth at 01:10 and arriving in Singapore at 06:35.

Qatar Airways rolls out ‘Super Wi-Fi’ High Speed Broadband on its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 Fleet

Qatar Airways passengers can now experience ‘Super Wi-Fi’ high-speed broadband connectivity using Inmarsat’s GX Aviation technology. The broadband service is being progressively rolled out on all Boeing 777 aircraft and Airbus A350 aircraft in Qatar Airways’ young fleet.

Qatar Airways is the first airline in the MENA region to have invested in the technology to provide this quality of service for passengers.The progressive fit-out will equip its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft with the new technology.

Passengers on flights fitted with GX Aviation can receive one hour free access to the ‘Super Wi-Fi’ to further enhance the award-winning level of service provided by the world’s best airline. If more time is needed, passengers can purchase full-flight access to the service selecting from a range of affordable options.

Emirates ‘Year of Zayed’ aircraft land on six continents for the 6th of May

Emirates has landed six of its special ‘Year of Zayed’ livery aircraft on six continents for the 6 May centennial birthday of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The aircraft is a celebration of the centennial anniversary of the birth of the UAE’s founding father, His Highness Sheikh Zayed, who dedicated his life to building a thriving and vibrant UAE. The principles and initiatives he set in motion have become the foundations for the UAE’s progress.

This tribute to the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was first unveiled in November 2017 on the fuselage of Emirates’ 100th A380 aircraft, commemorating the 100th year of HH Sheikh Zayed’s birth. A total of 10 Emirates aircraft carry the special livery for 2018. The ‘Year of Zayed’ Emirates aircraft have circled the globe to over 90 cities on over 1,800 flights.

Singapore Airlines’ new Singapore-Melbourne-Wellington service set for take off

Singapore Airlines is set to increase its presence in Melbourne from Friday 4 May, with the launch of a new four times weekly flight between Singapore, Melbourne and Wellington.

SQ247/8 will operate four times a week and provide Victorians with a fifth flight to Singapore as well as access to New Zealand’s capital, Wellington. The new flight will operate from Melbourne on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, providing the perfect opportunity for customers to enjoy a long weekend in New Zealand.

SQ247/248 will be operated by a 266 seat Boeing 777-200 fitted with 38 Business Class seats and 228 Economy Class seats.

The flight will depart Singapore at 19:45 providing customers with a new mid-evening flight from the Lion City and will arrive into Melbourne at 05:10 the next day. The aircraft will then continue to Wellington at 07:00, arriving in the New Zealand capital at 12:20. The return flight will depart Wellington at 13:45 and arrive in Melbourne at 15:30 before departing again at 16:50 and arriving in Singapore at 22:45.
