CINZ reveals more speakers for annual conference

Four more speakers have been announced for the 43rd Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) annual conference to be held in Queenstown later this month.

Outgoing CINZ chief executive Sue Sullivan said psychologist Nigel Latta, economist Shamubeel Eaqub, paralympian Liam Malone, and management strategist Tony Gardner will join a group of 25 keynote, panel and workshop presenters to explore the conference theme, ‘Inspiring New Thinking’.

“Across two days, we will be covering all the areas where new thinking is key to success — sustainability practices, resilience, social impact and legacy, international trends, and leadership skills,” she said.

Eaqub will look at sustainability and examine the new thinking needed to create sustainable growth for New Zealand’s visitor economy and business events sector.

Malone will tell the inspirational story of his rise to achieving two gold medals and a silver at the 2016 Paralympic Games.

More than 140 CINZ members, including owners and managers of key venues, catering companies, accommodation providers, activity operators, and regional convention bureaux will meet on 30 and 31 October at Skyline Queenstown.

They will be welcomed on 29 October to a special function hosted at Gibbston Valley Winery, and farewelled on 31 October with a gala dinner at Walter Peak High Country farm.

“Many of our delegates will make the most of the long weekend prior to our conference to explore Queenstown and the surrounding Central Otago and Southern Lakes region,” Sullivan said.

“This is an opportunity for our busy event professionals to immerse themselves in the experiences and take in the adrenalin, relaxation, food and wine unique to this region.”
