Crown agrees to Barangaroo plan changes

Crown Resorts’ six-star hotel and VIP-only casino at Barangaroo has been given the thumbs up by the NSW government after it agreed to a raft of changes including greater public access throughout the $2 billion development.

The Melbourne-based company, which is 53 per cent owned by James Packer, has accepted 20 new or updated conditions to the luxury Sydney development.

The changes include allowing public access to the 65th floor observation area overlooking Sydney Harbour, increased access to the surrounding parks and foreshore, and a limit on construction hours.

The plan now goes before the Planning Assessment Commission for final approval.
