Darwin company win showcases NT expertise

Highlighting Northern Territory expertise and also the way in which the NT’s industry strengths play a role in Business Events, Darwin-based specialist event management and marketing company, Associated Advertising & Promotions, received not one but two accolades at the recent 2016 Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) National Awards.

Associated Advertising & Promotions (AA&P) was the national winner in the category of ‘Association or Government Meeting of the Year’, with the very successful Northern Australia Food Futures Conference, which was hosted by the NT Farmers Association in Darwin in 2016.

The conference attracted over 300 delegates, sponsors and speakers, with strong representation from Qld, NT, WA and also international delegates from Asia and America.

Agribusiness continues to represent strong business and trade opportunities for the Northern Territory, with the NT’s remarkably diverse regional climates enabling a wide range of food sector specialisations, which in turn offer scope to attract and stage business events of relevance.

In addition to the Food Futures conference category win, AA&P also took home the Platinum Company Award for the highest national score of all MEA award submissions received in 2016.

AA&P Events & PR Manager Natalie Bell expressed the company’s delight, whilst acknowledging that strong partnerships and joint effort were a formula for success in the delivery of successful events and conferences.

She noted that the combination of strong relationships with NT Farmers, the Darwin Convention Centre and industry suppliers such as Fusion Displays, as well as the AA&P team’s passion and commitment, had contributed to the win.

This most recent accolade follows on to AA&P’s success in 2015, when they won MEA’s ‘National Public Event of Year’ award for the 2015 Darwin Italian Festival, an event which highlighted the NT’s multicultural diversity.

AA&P is now in the planning stages for the 2018 Food Futures Conference and is expected to continue delivering cutting edge events and flying the flag for the NT in the awards arena.
