Event organisers party at CINZ MEETINGS 2019 gala farewell

CINZ MEETINGS gala guests partied fiesta-style last Thursday night to celebrate MEETINGS’ final outing at SkyCity Convention Centre.

Dubbed ‘Fiestaval in the Sky’, event management and design by Total Event brought a high-energy atmosphere to the MEETINGS 2019 farewell with a spectacle of colour.

SkyCity Auckland Convention Centre, home to MEETINGS for many years, will be closing in late October to make way for new tourism attractions, and this is the last time a component of MEETINGS will be held there.

CINZ chief executive Sue Sullivan said MEETINGS gala took over the whole fifth floor, with spaces of wild colour and chilled vibes.

The Kitchen at SkyCity served South American, Mexican and Latin cuisine at street stalls dotted around the venue.

“The Production and Music Agency once again produced New Zealand’s best artists, performers and entertainment for the MEETINGS gala celebration, with a Latin band and a DJ all beating out the rhythms of ‘fiestaval’ with their amazing line-up of talent,” Sullivan said.

“With the sights and sounds of Latin America Encore brought their expertise to all the staging, lighting and integrated digital technologies guests experienced.”

Quick Pix were on hand to ensure guests captured all their best moments with professional photographers and entertaining photo booths

Next year’s CINZ MEETINGS will be held on 22 and 23 April 2020 at ASB Showgrounds in Auckland.

Sue Sullivan presented the CINZ MEETINGS 2019 Awards for exhibitors at the gala event, judged by a team of four hosted buyers.

“We had so many extraordinarily clever and eye-catching exhibition stands this year, and it was a difficult decision for the judges to come down to choosing the final three,” she said.

“They gave particular mention to the smaller regions, and commented how welcoming, warm and passionate they were.”

Auckland was crowned Best Stand Winner, while Millennium Hotels & Resorts took out the Best Individual Stand category, and Auckland Zoo was named Best New Exhibitor.
