Hobbiton brings Middle-Earth to Australia

Hobbiton brings Middle-Earth to Australia

If you’ve ever wanted to experience life from the picturesque farmlands featured in The Hobbit, now’s your chance.

A slice of Middle-Earth is heading to the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) 2016 with Hobbition Movie Set and Claudelands Conference and Exhibition Centre teams set to showcase the best of the region to guests.

The Melbourne tradeshow is the perfect opportunity to learn about the beautiful Hamilton and Waikato regions of New Zealand where the Hobbit was based – a major drawcard for the area.

Claudelands business development and sales manager Wendy Harrison is looking forward to sharing the treasures of the region with visitors. The venue features a 6000-capacity indoor arena, focusing on the style and heritage of the region.

“For us it is a great opportunity to meet more people and not only tell them about our award- winning venue but also talk about everything our region has to offer,” she said.

It’s a destination that many people haven’t discovered within the international business events market, despite the short drive from Auckland International Airport.

“While many conference delegates have already been to other New Zealand centres like Auckland or Queenstown, our region can offer an entirely new experience for them which is exciting,” Hobbiton’s Marketing Manager Shayne Forrest said.

“One of the key strengths of the Hamilton and Waikato region is our collaboration. From venues to the accommodation or dining establishments, to the visitor attractions and activities, we all know and back each other, and work together to offer the best possible itineraries and experiences for business event organisers and delegates.”

The region’s location at the heart of the North Island means it is within easy driving distance of other major centres such as Tauranga and Auckland, offering options for delegates wanting to explore more of New Zealand post-conference.

This will be the first time Hobbiton Movie Set has attended the tradeshow and the fifth time Claudelands Conference and Exhibition Centre has exhibited.
