Industry leader joins MEA to drive education and events

Meetings & Events Australia is extremely pleased to announce that Anne-Marie Flynn has joined MEA as National Events & Education Manager.

Anne-Marie has over 25 years’ experience in the event and hospitality sectors, including 17 years in higher education specialising in event education.

Anne-Marie was the Head of School: Event Management at International School of Management, Sydney for nine years before taking on senior academic roles.

Anne-Marie has a Masters of Higher Education (Learning and Teaching).

Prior to her academic career she was an event consultant specialising in corporate events and earlier, worked in event positions across a range of hotels for Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation.

Anne-Marie is also no stranger to MEA having volunteered to participate on the NSW Branch Committee since 2009.

Anne-Marie will liaise closely with State and Territory Branch Committees and MEA members to develop professional development that is relevant across the event sector, meaningful networking opportunities for members and non-members, and will add enormous value to the development of MEA’s social events through her connections and creativity.

She will also take carriage of MEA’s National Conference and work closely with MEA’s CEO and Board to deliver MEA’s recently launched Diploma of Event Management through its RTO, the Australian Event Academy.

Robyn Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of MEA said: “We are delighted to have Anne-Marie join the MEA team. She brings extensive experience in the events industry and event education.

“She will be pivotal in delivering the Diploma of Event Management and MEA’s other educational products.”
