It’s The Big Cheese with Nicole Cheramie

We caught up with InterContinental Sydney’s director of meetings and events, Nicole Cheramie, to talk Sweden, red wine and the dynamic industry she works in.

The great thing about my job is… how dynamic it is.  I adore change and no day is ever the same!

The challenge for industry is… the speed of light at which the market can change

My greatest achievement is… winning TAA’s Meeting&Events Employee of the Year 2016

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… InterContinental Sydney’s refurbished function spaces, of course.

I try to relax by… going to Balmoral Beach and a cheeky glass of red

I don’t understand why… some people have a hard time admitting their mistakes

My favourite venue is… Any place on the water

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Sweden to see the Northern Lights

I am scared to death of… Alligators!

I can’t live without… American Peanut Butter – Jiff to be specific

I really wish I had… some Boiled Crawfish and King Cake right now (from New Orleans)

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be… Charles Darwin, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sheryl Sandberg, and Daniel Craig 😉

For anyone starting out in the industry one piece of advice I’d give would be… Get rid of your sense of entitlement now.  No one owes you anything and no one will go out of their way to give you something.  It is up to you alone to create your destiny.  Hustle.
