onefinestay, the company that brings hospitality to the finest homes in the world’s best cities, today launched Collections, a series of new market launches of its acclaimed private rentals service in top leisure destinations in the U.S. and Europe, beginning with the Hamptons.

Bali launches Hotel Komune

W Maldives gets shady
W Maldives, part of W Hotels Worldwide, has partnered with leading Australian sunglasses brand Le Specs to create the exclusive limited edition sunglasses The Prince.
The vibrant blue model was inspired by the glowing colours of W Maldives and shot onsite across the sands of the exotic island surroundings that perfectly reflect the spirit of a tropical escape and the dream-like energy of summer that the Le Specs brand embodies.

Cairns Coconut sold
The iconic Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort has been sold to Ingenia Communities Group for $50 million in the largest single holiday park transaction in Australia.
Simon Owen, CEO of Ingenia Communities said Cairns Coconut would become the flagship asset for the Group’s rapidly growing Ingenia Holidays business, and will increase Ingenia’s portfolio to 21 holiday parks located in NSW and Queensland.
Cairns Coconut has been solely owned and developed by the Olholm family since 1984, transforming it from a cane paddock into the leading holiday park in Australia. It was recently ranked number 8 in TripAdvisor’s 2017 Travellers’ Choice Awards amongst the Top 25 Hotels in Australia.
Cairns Coconut appeals to both domestic and international tourists seeking access to the natural wonders including the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. Minor hotels scores major win
Minor Hotels is celebrating an impressive number of properties being recognised in the 2017 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards for hotels.
In the 15th year of the awards, TripAdvisor has highlighted the world’s top properties based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from travellers around the globe.
TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice 2017 has recognised 14 Minor Hotels, including across its Anantara, AVANI and Tivoli brands, with a total of 28 awards in the Top Hotels, Small Hotels, Romance, Luxury and Best Service categories.
Showcasing unique properties around the world in the 2017 awards, eight resorts highlighted Anantara journeys of luxury discovery, three hotels proudly fly the flag for AVANI’s vibrant contemporary style and one hotel showed off Tivoli’s distinct charms. In addition Naladhu Resort Maldives and Essque Zalu Zanzibar were recognised.
Barnaby Joyce opens Mercure Tamworth
Tamworth’s newest 4.5 star hotel – Mercure Tamworth – was officially opened on Friday 10 February with a ceremonial plaque unveiling led by the Honourable Barnaby Joyce MP, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources and Federal Member for New England, together with Danesh Bamji, General Manager Franchise Australia, AccorHotels and John McClelland, President, Wests Entertainment Group.
Wests Entertainment Group will operate the three-storey, 52-room Mercure Tamworth in partnership with AccorHotels – a welcome addition to West Tamworth League Club on Phillip Street.
In officially unveiling Mercure Tamworth, the Honourable Barnaby Joyce MP commented that the new partnership between AccorHotels and Wests Entertainments Group signifies a confidence in the region’s economy and potential for tourism growth.
Hilton signs NZ DoubleTree
The New Zealand capital of Wellington will become the site of the area’s third DoubleTree by Hilton, one of Hilton’s 14 distinct brands. The signing is a franchise agreement with Sarin Investments to operate DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington. The seven-story hotel, expected to open in late 2017 and is located on Lambton Quay, the main street of downtown Wellington.
The property is operated by Sarin Investments and is currently undergoing extensive work converting the iconic T&G Building to a hotel.
The hotel will boast 108 stylish and comfortable rooms, including 21 suites, a restaurant, bar, boardroom and gym coupled with all the modern, thoughtful amenities our customers expect from the DoubleTree by Hilton brand.
Taj Hotel announces new identity
The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced that all hotels in the current global portfolio will now be grouped under a single branded house identity: Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris.
The new brand architecture was designed to honour the 100+ year legacy of the Taj and to realign Taj’s vision of building a globally-reputable chain of world-class hotels. The redesigned architecture will see all hotels grouped under: Taj Hotels; Taj Palaces; Taj Resorts; and Taj Safaris respectively.
At Taj Hotels these will include in-room check-ins, lobbies as cozy living rooms, world-class concierge service, 24/7 services including breakfast, fitness centers, spas and an exceptional sleep experience apart from all-day dining, comfort food, and the world of Taj cuisine.
Sydney scores new rooftop bar
