Major Aussie conference hits new destination

The Gold Coast has scored the rights to host the 10th Australasian Viral Hepatitis Conference in September 2016.

The collaborating bodies involved in the conference, including the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine, have selected the sunny destination to hold the event, which is expected to draw around 500 delegates to Australia’s east coast.

The conference is set to attract a host of delegates, from specialists and medical practitioners to community workers and government and health representatives, with the conference the leading multidisciplinary viral hepatitis conference down under.

Gold Coast Business Events’ director Anna Case said the city was looking forward to welcoming delegates to the city next year.

“We’re thrilled to hear that this major medical conference will convene on the Gold Coast next year,” she said.

“The Gold Coast is increasingly being recognised as an incredibly appealing destination for association conferences, and our track record of delivering higher delegates numbers than anywhere else in Queensland is one of the reasons.”

“We’re aware that it’s critical for our association clients to select a destination with strong appeal to lure the optimum number of delegates. When it comes to achieving some of Australia’s most impressive attendance statistics, the Gold Coast well and truly delivers.”
