Marquee dazzles at exclusive showcase

Marquee Sydney at The Star showed off its flexibility as a unique event venue last week during an exclusive showcase for events industry insiders.

The progressive tour began on the red carpet in front of waiting paparazzi for a celebrity welcome, before guests explored Marquee’s unique event spaces including The Library, the Boom Box Room and the Outdoor Terrace.  The grand finale featured a breathtaking performance by Samantha Jade in the Main Room.

Jayson Heron, Director of Sales at The Star Sydney was thrilled with the success of the Marquee Showcase, describing the event as a “standout”.

“We were so thrilled to be able to share with this audience how incredibly adaptable the spaces in Marquee are and especially how well suited they are to producing fantastic live music,” he said.

“Marquee is so much more than an award-winning nightclub and this was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.”

Alana Emblen, Director of Event Operations at Hurricane Event Group and a guest at the Marquee Showcase, raved about the night.

“The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and it was a wonderful way to showcase the different spaces you have on offer. I must stay The Star ALWAYS host the best industry events!” she said.

Making the evening a glamorous affair, a fleet of luxury cars were positioned upon entry, including a Rolls Royce, Aston Martin and Mercedes, supplied by Royale Limousines. Trio Circa 91, featuring Natalie Conway, provided smooth tunes for guests in the Library, as they played on Poker and Blackjack fun tables which completed the ‘Casino Royale’ theme of this space.

Guests were able to have a mini makeover and then have a professional headshot profile photo taken in the headshot lounge provided by Pure Chica and Oneill Photographics which they could use for their LinkedIn profiles or other corporate materials.

The Jungle Funk themed outdoor terrace was decked out by Decorative Events & Exhibitions and featured the beautiful snake charmer Andrea and her snake Beatrice. Here attendees dined on BLACK by ezard’s gourmet twist on finger food, the popular Wagyu slider with sweet pickle, gruyère and tomato, while spectacular Marquee-style Pina Coladas were served in fresh coconuts.

The Boom Box Room was transformed into a pumping Martini Beach Club that could have been lifted straight off the picturesque Italian Riviera. Created in partnership with Grey Goose, the Boom Box Martini Beach Club served two signature cocktails, a Velvet Martini from the award-winning BLACK by ezard bartender Peter Seabrook, and the Grey Goose La Fizz. These distinctive drinks were paired with Balla inspired canapes and porchetta served fresh from the live carving station.

Following the finale, guests dined on handmade pastries including a strawberry choux bun with a raspberry shot and salted caramel pastry topped with the Marquee logo. Popular gelato restaurant, Messina were also on hand to cool things down after an action packed evening, serving mini gelato cones.
