The Conference Shop on the road again
Last month The Conference Shop travelled south to the NSW and Victorian border to explore the beautiful Riverina region and specifically, the twin cities of Albury/Wodonga.
This lovely region is home to a diverse range of wonderful venues, catering for corporate groups of any size, from small, intimate meetings to conferences of up to 1000 delegates.
Catering and off site food options are aplenty with 78 restaurants, cafes and clubs featuring fresh, regional produce and local wine AND with over 60 accommodation providers across these twin cities, this region can provide your event with up to 4000 beds!
Easily accessible, just 5km from Albury’s city centre and 7km to Wodonga’s CBD, Albury airport is the third busiest airport in regional NSW with around 180 flights in and out of the city each week. Qantas Airlines and Regional Express and Virgin Airlines service this region with direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne getting you there in less then one hour.
The area’s picturesque natural landscape provides an abundance of opportunities for team building activities. The beautiful parklands can be explored by bicycle, or you can relax by the tranquil waters and enjoy a picnic. Along the Murray River you can take in the surrounding sights with a leisurely river cruise or enjoy the river via kayak, canoe or white water rafting – for the really adventurous!
This month the Conference Shop has teamed up with the Atura Albury, a fabulous industrial, urban, art inspired boutique hotel, to offer you a super Winter Day Delegate Special of just $50pp including Function Room hire, standard AV, Morning & Afternoon Teas and a Working Lunch.
Terms and Conditions apply and the offer is valid from June 1st – August 31st
TCEB launches ‘Thailand CONNECT Welcome Package 2016’ for International MICE travellers
The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization), or TCEB, unveiled a specially-designed ‘Thailand CONNECT Welcome Package 2016’ offering to raise awareness of the Thai MICE industry’s capabilities to host world-class events while enhancing the Kingdom’s leadership position as a premiere destination at the heart of the fast-growing ASEAN region for MICE travellers.
With Thailand’s long-standing geographical advantage as the centre of ASEAN and the region’s hub for connectivity, the country’s MICE industry has enjoyed a significant role in contributing revenue to the Thai economy. In the fiscal year 2015 – from October 2014 to September 2015, Thailand attracted 1,095,995 business events visitors, generating revenue of 95,857 million baht (US$2,691.89 million).
Underlining the strategy to ensure Thailand’s leadership position as a premiere destination at the heart of the fast-growing ASEAN region for MICE travellers, TCEB has launched the phase II of its Thailand CONNECT Welcome Package that runs from February – December 2016. This global support is specially designed to provide MICE travellers with the essentials to ‘connect’ businesses in Thailand under the country’s three fundamental pillars for the MICE industry, namely destination, business, and people.
AV1 and Entegy team up to bring Sprintr
Audiovisual production company AV1 and event technology provider Entegy have teamed up to revolutionise the event registration process with their new product; Sprintr.
Available from July 2016, the Sprintr units are portable, fully customisable, on-site registration kiosks designed to ease the common pain points of event planners.
Sprintr is the digital solution to the traditional registration desk. It offers on-the-spot event registration and ticketing, automated name badge printing, unique QR barcode scanning and branding opportunities for sponsors.
Sprintr speeds up the registration process and improves the experience for event organisers and their delegates. It is easy to setup and use, cost-effective and significantly reduces time costs associated with delegate management.
Talking about the new partnership, AV1 Managing Director Keith Wootton said, “It was love at first byte with Entegy. Marrying up our hardware and logistics with Entegy’s software was only ever going to lead to creating a solution as disruptive as the Sprintr.”
Entegy Executive Director Graeme Caplen added, “Sprintr is the first of many new innovations you can look forward to as a result of our collaboration with AV1. We’re enjoying the convergence of IT and AV within the industry and are excited to share further innovations in the future.”
