Brisbane’s world-class Global Rugby Tens tournament was the focus of an exclusive dinner hosted by the Brisbane Convention Bureau in Auckland this week.

Taking place on the eve of the Pacific Area Incentives & Conferences Expo (PAICE), the event highlighted the unique opportunities available for meetings and incentive events that are held during the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens tournament in February 2018.

Brisbane Convention Bureau Acting General Manager Juliet Alabaster said the Auckland dinner, co-hosted by sporting event management company Duco Events, demonstrated how aligning a meeting, conference or incentive program with a major event like the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens could offer delegates an unforgettable experience.

“Our key New Zealand clients were presented with the opportunities available in Brisbane in February 2018 when the city transforms into rugby heaven during the Global Rugby Tens tournament and we have some of the world’s best rugby players in our city,” Ms Alabaster said.

“Major events like the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens are an ideal opportunity to add value to an incentive program, drive meeting attendance or engage with key delegates and sponsors.”

As well as the thrill of the tournament itself and the atmosphere around Brisbane when 14 world-class teams descend on Suncorp Stadium for a spectacular two days on 9-10 February, event planners and corporate clients would also have access to opportunities and experiences including hosted VIP areas at the games, and special events featuring some of the big names of rugby.

The Brisbane Global Rugby Tens includes all Australian and New Zealand Super Rugby sides and four elite international teams in a 10-players-per-side, 10-minutes-per-half, knockout tournament.

The upcoming 2018 tournament will see new day-night matches, kicking off on Friday and Saturday afternoon and continuing into the night to create an energetic festival atmosphere in the surrounding Caxton Street precinct.
