The city’s only fully functioning winery ‘Urban Winery Sydney’, has recently relocated to the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park.

Chief winemaker and business owner, Alex Retief set up shop in 2016 at the innovative Precinct 75 in St Peters, but two years later the demand for more wine, grander space and longer hours to host events were factors inspiring the move.

The new headquarters rubs shoulders with the SCG and Allianz Stadium, residing a stone’s throw away from Sydney’s CBD. The one of a kind space includes a fully working winery, event space, wine bar and cellar door.

Retief produces all his delicious A. Retief label wines in the new facility, fully equipped with pumps, presses, syphons and filtration systems – using grapes sourced only from the New South Wales cool climate regions of Tumbarumba, Gundagai and the Hilltops and knowledge gained from his time in France, Spain, California and the Hunter Valley.
