The Big Cheese: AIME’s Angela Sciacca

The Big Cheese: AIME’s Angela Sciacca

The Nibbler goes head to head with AIME Exhibition Project Manager Angela Sciacca. Although that’s not to suggest there was any arm wrestling involved.

The great thing about my job is…

Being able to give all my focus to one event and one team.

The challenge for the industry is…

Learning that not one size fits all. Great innovation for some is not necessarily great innovation for others.

My greatest achievement is…

Working at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Even now I still draw from what I learned during that time.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be…

Ensuring your event, product or content is relevant.  With the industry being so time poor you want to be the first choice especially if there has to be a choice.

I try to relax by…

Switching my phone to silent.

I don’t understand why…

I constantly check my phone while it is on silent.

My favourite venue is…

The Randwick Ritz Cinema.  It takes me back to my childhood. The boysenberry choc tops are also another reason.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

See the Northern Lights.

I am scared to death of…

Magpies. I will walk two blocks the other way to avoid one. Or walk backward. Either way, makes me feel a little crazy.

I can’t live without…

My son Jack.  He makes me laugh out loud every day.

I really wish I had…

Spent more time travelling before I had my son.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…

Enid Blyton, Chelsea Handler, my mum and dad.

For anyone starting out in the industry one piece of advice I’d give would be….

Grab every opportunity with both hands as you never know where it will lead you.  Sometimes the most mundane experiences will win you that dream job.
