The Big Cheese with AMOUR’s Andy Price

Today we chat to AMOUR Event Director, Andy Price, on being a father, weather and Winston Churchill.

The great thing about my job is…

The industry is full of great people and I get to travel and discover amazing new places

The challenge for industry is…

Definitely the informal tourism or sharing economy sector with companies such as Airbnb changing the way consumers think about accommodation.

My greatest achievement is…

Being a dad to my little Ava

The biggest thing in the industry this year will be…

Obviously Amour Asia Pacific!

I try to relax by…

Watching sport – this works unless Chelsea are losing

I don’t understand why…

People moan about the weather when we have no control over it anyway

My favourite destination experiences are…

A sunrise breakfast at Mara Bushtops in Kenya, followed by a morning game drive to experience the incredible wildlife. An amazing sushi lunch at The Naked Fish in South Lake Tahoe, CA, before enjoying an afternoon skiing the groomed runs of Heavenly Mountain Resort.

And finally, watching the sun go down with a beer on the beach at Cheval Blanc St-Barth on the island of Saint Barthélemy in the Caribbean, followed by a candlelit dinner at La Case de L’Isle.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Space

I am scared to death of…

Snakes

I can’t live without…

Chapstick (seriously I’ve been addicted since the age of 7 🙂

I really wish I had…

A luxury yacht docked up in St. Tropez

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…

Winston Churchill, Buzz Aldrin, Seb Coe, and Angelina Jolie

For anyone starting out in the industry one piece of advice I’d give would be…

Bring a half glass full attitude to everything you do, and drink a half glass of something before each event
