The Big Cheese with Carice Kuo, Director of Sales & Marketing, W Taipei

Carice takes some time out to talk the Taipei buzz, unnecessary shouting and giving her best.

The great thing about my job is… Working at W Taipei, you will never have a dull moment surrounded by fashion, music and design events.

The challenge for industry is… In the past few years, Taipei has grown with many international and local hotel openings which have brought changes, changes and more changes.

My greatest achievement is… Since I work for an worldwide hotel brand in Taiwan, it’s good for me flaring my Chinese roots with Western touches.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… Based on the past year’s performance and this year’s forecast, coping with the recession will be the main issue for MICE in Taiwan this year.

I try to relax by… Reading a novel or TV series.

I don’t understand why… People shout when they can talk instead, with the exception of our dearest guests of course.

My favourite venue is… I am always in love with the hotels that I work for, so W Taipei is my favourite for now.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Anywhere that is new to me.

I am scared to death of… Not being able to give my best.

I can’t live without… Hmm ..  without is a strong word. I will say my lovely family.

I really wish I had… The wisdom to solve all the problems in the world.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be… Those whom I love and who love me (so there would be quite a few four-people dinners that I would host).

For anyone starting out in the industry one piece of advice I’d give would be …. Do your best and the rest will fall into place.
