Which Aussie Hotels scored big at World Luxury’s 2017 Awards?

One Aussie hotel made it on the global rankings, while five more nagged a spot in the top country winners.

Six Aussie hotels were recognised at the 2017 World Luxury Hotel Awards held at the Kulm Hotel St Moritz in Switzerland last week, with one residence from NSW crowned the most luxurious guesthouse in the world for 2017.

The Anchorage in Port Stephens, an opulent residence located along the idyllic and secluded waterfront marina took home the prestigious award for its second consecutive year.

Last month, the five-star resort relaunched after a multi-million dollar refurbishment, which saw Altis Architectures instill Hamptons-esc interiors, new restaurants, fitness centre, spa and two pools – including an adults-only infinity pool!

The resort has 80 private suites each with their own balcony or terrace including only the finest amenities and comfort.

In the country winners category, four hotels from the Sydney region and one from Melbourne were awarded luxury titles.

Sydney’s Primus Hotel was on fire, taking home two awards as a Luxury New Hotel and Luxury Heritage Hotel, as well as the award for the Luxury Architecture Design Hotel.

Boasting a rooftop bar, pool, and fine dining establishments, the hotel transformed an iconic 1930s building, into a lavish contemporary residence in the heart of the CBD.

The Luxury Boutique Hotel award was crowned by Jonah’s Restaurant and Boutique Hotel, located in Palm Beach, just under an hour north of Sydney.

The ocean retreat also took home the title of Luxury coastal hotel for the second time in a row.

Surry Hill’s ADGE Hotel, a funky and stylish residence on Riley Street took home The Luxury Serviced Apartment award and Luxury Design Hotel award.

We’re heading down to Melbourne for the Luxury City Hotel award, with Treasury on Collins taking home the title.

The boutique residence occupies a stunning 19th-century building in the heart of the CBD offers elegant apartment-style suites.

Now for the overall winner of the 2017 Luxury Hotel Awards…

The Maldive’s Jumeirah Vittaveli took home this year’s title as the Global Winner of Luxury Hotel Awards, Luxury Island Resort and Luxury Family Beach Resort.

Jumeirah Vittaveli is a residence of unravelled paradisal beauty, located along the sandy shores of Bolifushi Island.

Comprised of 89 villas ranging from Ocean suites, beach villas and large private residences, the resort features five star leisure facilities, spa, swimming pools, four restaurants and bars.
