2023 Australian Event Awards & Symposium Winners Announced

The 2023 Australian Event Awards and Symposium Ceremony was held last week on 13 September, with winners presented at a gala event held at the Highline Venue in Bankstown.

Taking out the top prize for Australian event of the year was the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, which also won the OnePlan ‘Best Sporting Event’.

Sydney WorldPride 2023 won two categories, ‘Best Charity or Cause-Related Event’ and ‘Best Congress or Conference (500+) for their Human Rights Conference 2023.

‘Best Congress or Conference (<500) was awarded to ‘Facing the Future: Aged Care 2023 and Beyond.

Best corporate event was ‘Orbital 2023’, which pipped Salesforce World Tour Sydney 2023 and Xerocon Sydney 2023.

ICMS Australia also had a big night, winning the PCO of the Year category as well as the Event Management Company of the Year.

Adding to the festivities was a great lineup of entertainment including pianist Jade Steg, vocalist Abi Morgan, guitar duo MiSa Jazz as well as guitar and vocalist Grace Fuller and band 3 Way Split.

The event was MC’d by a familiar face, Nathan Cassar.

“This year’s ceremony really was an occasion to celebrate the year in which the events industry sprang back from the depths of the COVID-19 crisis,” MD, Australian Event Awards, Ian Steigrad, said.

“Every event, individual and company nominated is an inspiration of creativity, flair and steely determination to succeed – congratulations!

“On this 15th year of the awards, I also want to thank the industry in the form of our great many judges, partners and thousands of entrants for their contributions to ensure that the events industry continues to celebrate and promote itself through the awards.”
