The annual China Tourism Night kicked off in Sydney last week aboard a brightly lit, three-tier Showboat.

Hosted by China National Tourism Administration, the evening set out to foster cooperation between the Chinese and Australian tourism industry. Forging stronger ties in the MICE sector was also a key focus.

Distinguished industry players such as NSW Deputy Premier Anthony Stoner, Destination NSW chief executive Sandra Chipchase and ATEC Managing Director Felicia Mariani attended.

During a three course meal, representatives from Hainan, Anhui and Shanghai outlined the MICE offerings in their region. Attendees were treated to a performance from a Chinese Music Ensemble while the boat sailed around Sydney Harbour.
