Europe growth to bolster Australian business events

Australia’s global reputation as a business destination is set to grow, alongside marketplace spending, according to a new report.

The latest Global Business Travel Association report shows that five of the major business travel markets, the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, will increase their business travel spending with Australia proving to be a strong contender as a business events destination.

Australia performed well against other destinations on key areas such as safety and security, quality of business event facilities, accommodation and local cuisine.

“Exceptional experiences, destinations and world-class food and wine are just a few of the main reasons Australia consistently ranks as a preferred business events destination,” Business Events Australia general manager Penny Lion said.

A team of 14 Australian business event industry partners joined Tourism Australia at IMEX Frankfurt to showcase the very best Australia has to offer in the conference, incentive and association markets – one of Australia’s strongest representations at the show to date.

“We are continually investing in our world-class business events capabilities to uphold our reputation for excellence, and we are proud to showcase some of the very best Australia has to offer at IMEX Frankfurt," Lion said.
