An Australian delegation has embarked on a business events showcase across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in response to a growing number of incentive bookings from these markets.

The last five years has delivered a steady increase in the number of business arrivals from South East Asia, with Australia’s proximity and affordability the key drivers, according to recent Tourism Australia research.

As a result, 16 business events partners from across Australia will embark on the showcase which visits Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta this week.

“We want to continue to build on the growth that we are seeing from South East Asia. This week’s showcase allows us to demonstrate Australia’s ongoing investment in its business events and incentive offerings,” Tourism Australia’s general manager business events Penny Lion said.

“We want to really bring to life what Australia has to offer and demonstrate that we have the ability to tailor any offering or experience for delegates from South East Asia.”

This year, Australia will host to some of the largest incentive events from industries including electronics, education, accounting, insurance, engineering with a number of incentive bookings already confirmed for 2015.
