Virgin Australia has introduced business class on most of its domestic routes in a bid to ramp up competition in Australian business travel.

The offering includes new premium cabins, a gourmet food and beverage service and complimentary access to Virgin Australia’s lounges and priority check-in and boarding.

Prices start from $429 one-way from Sydney to the Gold Coast and $529 from Sydney to Melbourne.

Virgin is offering double frequent flyer points for domestic business class flights between January 26 and February 29 to launch the service.
