Cooling off in Papua New Guinea #IceBucketChallenge style

What a better place to take on the Ice Bucket Challenge then in the warm tropics of Papua New Guinea.

That is exactly what Robin Russell-Pavier and Kim Romanski from Papua New Guinea Tourism, United Kingdom, did at the recent Lukim 2014 PNG Expo held in Port Moresby.

Wanting to really show that the Challenge took place in Papua New Guinea, the duo enlisted the help of some very special painted warriors.

The Huli Wigmen from Tari Highlands were at the Lukim Expo, mingling with guests to give a taste of the Huli Wigmen culture.

After completing the challenge, Russell-Pavier and Romanski threw down the challenge to other industry members, including Australia's very own Stuart Thompson from Papua New Guinea Tourism.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is a social media campaign initiated in the US designed to raise funds and promote awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS).

In Australia the Challenge has so far raised more than $700,000 for Motor Neurone Disease research and to support people living with the neurological disorder.
