EEAA restructures to better reflect membership
By admin

The Exhibitions and Events Association of Australasia (EEAA) will cater to its growing number of association members by amending its constitution to ensure that the sector is represented on its board.

Its members have voted in favour of the amendment which will increase the number of “organisers” from four to five, with one position to always be held by an “association organiser”.

“Many industry Associations rely on their exhibitions to drive revenue to fund their organisations – they represent an important and growing area of membership in the EEAA and this change ensures they have a designated seat at the board table,” EEAA chief executive Joyce DiMascio said.

EEAA’s industry association members include: Aerospace Maritime and Defence Foundation of Australia; Audited Media Association of Australia; Australian Dental Industry Association; Australian Gift and Homewares Association; Australian Toy Association; Boating Industry Association of NSW; Gaming Technologies Association; Pet Industry Association of Australia; and Visual Industries Suppliers Association.

The annual general meeting, held at Sydney Showground, also saw the reappointment of president Domenic Genua who spoke of the organisation’s “great shape” during a period of change.

Treasurer Bob O’Keeffe added the organisation is in a “strong financial position”, positioning it well to continue to service its members.
