The Schaller Studio has officially opened its doors, providing contemporary accommodation in thriving arts hub Bendigo.

The 128 room hotel inspired by artist Mark Schaller and his renowned expressionist work is an affordable, compact version of the signature Art Series Hotel Group, designed for regional Australia.

“The opening of The Schaller Studio is an acknowledgment of the growing art and cultural scene in regional Australia, of which Bendigo is a true leader” chief executive Will Deague said.

Meanwhile, Schaller said it was "awe inspiring" to see the finished property.

“It is the largest collection of my work ever exhibited and I am truly taken aback to see it all in one home and to be honoured in this way," he said. "I can’t wait to visit the hotel regularly and share in the Bendigo experience."

A collection of 240 original artworks await guests, inspiring guests to immerse themselves in the local art scene.

All staff will be trained to offer informative tours on the artworks, as well as provide information and cultural experiences of the local area.
