Kriel brings more than 17 years of industry experience to the position, having worked as event manager for Exhibition & Trade Fairs among other roles.

In his new position, Kriel’s main responsibility will be business development with him to become the key contact for exhibitors with responsibility for selling floor space and sponsorship opportunities.

His experience in the industry will enable him to help exhibitors get the most out of the event, according to AIME and CIBTM director Jacqui Timmins.

“Delwin’s skill set will be integral to taking AIME to the next level and providing exhibitors with first class service,” she said.

Kriel said he was thrilled to join the AIME team and forecast an “outstanding year” for the event in 2014.

“A key component of my work will be to ensure an exceptional experience for our exhibitors and I’m very much looking forward to working with them to identify how we can assist them to capitalise on the opportunities that AIME offers,” he said.
