AirAsia X will axe its service to Male, Maldives from March 1 due to "challenging business conditions".

The suspension aims to improve operating cost efficiencies and increase focus on the key markets of Australia, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The $45 million International Terminal redevelopment from Brisbane Airport Corporation begins this week, to be undertaken in several stages to reduce interference to passengers and operations.

The project is expected to finish mid- 2015.

 

Airberlin will double its daily flights between Berlin and Abu Dhabi from October 26, offering 8,344 seats each week between the two capital cities.

Luxperience 2014 will take place from August 31 to September 3 in Sydney.

 

Holland America Line has announced that Australian Chef Mark Best, will join its Culinary Council.

Mark joins HAL’s master chef and council chairman Rudi Sodamin, and prominent international chefs Jonnie Boer, David Burke, Elizabeth Falkner and Jacques Torres on the Culinary Council.

 

Taipei Taoyuan International Airport is now officially an Emirates passenger destination, with the launch of new daily direct services from Dubai to Taipei.
