Etihad Airways has introduced a range of new benefits for its top tier Gold Elite frequent flyer members.

Benefits include: an increase in tier bonus miles from 50% to 75%; complimentary Guest Gold membership for an additional person; check-in at the Diamond First Class counter regardless of class of travel; lounge passes for an accompanying guest; and a guaranteed Pearl Business Class seat on an Etihad-operated flight if booked at least 48 before departure.

 

Boutique Queensland retreat Spicers Hidden Vale has upgraded its wireless Internet service from 3G to 4G to make it faster and more reliable for conferencing guests.

The WiFi now civers the entire property which features two main meeting rooms with total capacity for up to 65 delegates.

 

Metro Hotels has entered into a management agreement to operate 16 apartments in the 97-unit G60 Apartments development in Gladstone, Queensland.

The apartments are now open for trading.

 

The new Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane has appointed Sean Cummings, formerly of the Park Hyatt Melbourne, as its executive chef.

The new centre, at the city's RNA Showgrounds, opened in February with the Soundwave music festival.

 

Quest Serviced Apartments has opened Quest Frankston on the Bay, an 82-apartment property on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

The property occupies four floors within the new 10-storey Peninsula on the Bay complex.

 

Jing An Shangri-La in West Shanghai has confirmed it will open in June with 4,465 square metres of function space.

The event centre will be housed in a five-storey podium block with a direct access to the hotel tower via the third floor.

 

Following swiftly on the heels of the announcement of its Kurrajong property, Toga Hotels has debuted in Tasmania with the rebadging of the 131-room Leisure Inn Hobart Macquarie as the Travelodge Hobart.

 

Brisbane Airport has launched a new mobile app for iPhones providing instant travellers with access to information about departures and arrivals, parking, airport facilities and directions.

It also features a My Trip function enabling flight details to be saved to phones and then shared with friends via Facebook and Twitter.
