Adding to their list of accolades, cievents have taken out the award for the Best Business Events Travel Agency at the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) over the weekend.

The award recognises the Australian agency for successfully demonstrating best practice in conference, event and incentive travel management.

"This is a wonderful acknowledgement of the cievents team," global general manager Natalie Simmons said.

"As a team we are passionate about and committed to the MICE industry, but more importantly our customers who trust in the team to deliver amazing and inspiring business events around the globe."

To coincide with the revamp of the million dollar refurbishment of the former Sky Venue in Sydney, the Trippas White Group has launched a competition to name the iconic event space and bar.

Located at the top of the Westfield Sydney Tower, the venue is expected to emerge from the revamp in late August with event space for up to 200 people and a New York loft-inspired design. Timber panelling and furnishings, mood lighting and window lounge sears with 220 degree penthouse views across Sydney’s skyline will also feature.

“The tower is distinctly Sydney – it is part of our horizon, our childhood memories and our celebrations,” general manager sales and marketing Rebecca Skeete said.

“It made sense to us to involve Sydneysiders in choosing a new name for our city’s highest event space.”

Competition entries are open until August 22 with the shortlist to be announced on August 25. Email them to competitions@trippaswhitegroup.com.au.

Finalists will be invited to an exclusive launch party in early September where the new name will be revealed with the winner to receive a VIP cocktail party to the value of $2,000.

Sydney transportation specialist REDY2GO will commence a Sydney Airport-CBD luxury shuttle bus service in early August 2014.

It will operate a fleet of 10-seater Fiat Ducato long-wheel base buses on the service, with onboard Wi-Fi, TVs, driver to passenger communication systems and pre-fitted luggage facilities.

REDY2GO chief executive Paul Highams said the new service would fill what he described as a gap in the market between limousines and budget airport shuttle buses.
