Oman Tourism is reducing tourism visa fees in a bid to draw more MICE delegates to the region.

High fees and red tape have been removed, with visas now costing only $12 for travel lasting over 10 days. Cruise visas are now free for travel over 48 hours.

In other developments, five new airports are also on the cards, as well as several new hotels and a new convention centre.

Set for completion in 2015, the facility will cater for 3200 guests and will include a five-star hotel, shopping mall and business park.
