Record numbers for MEETINGS 2013
By admin

A record 180 exhibitors are expected to promote their services and products at MEETINGS 2013, to be held at Auckland SkyCity Convention Centre on June 26 and 27.

Now in its 17th year, the Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) show will also welcome 350 local day buyers and 190 hosted buyers from countries such as Australia, China, India and New Zealand itself.

CINZ chief executive Alan Trotter said showing the international buyers the range of destinations on offer in New Zealand along with its offer value for money is vital to compete globally.

"We're looking forward to a very successful two days and are confident of securing some valuable new business for New Zealand," he said.

"With the prospect of three new convention centres – in Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown – over the next few years, we're moving to the next level to promote New Zealand as the dream destination for conferences, conventions and incentive travel."

Last year, a survey revealed that 97% of MEETINGS hosted buyers had met or exceeded their expectations.

The event generated in excess of NZ$32 million (AU$26.9m) of business.
