Spicers Sydney hotel to open in mid-2015

The latest addition to the Spicers Retreats portfolio will open in Sydney’s Potts Point in mid-2015, it has been confirmed.

Sold to Spicers founders Graham and Jude Turner, the 25-room Victoria Court Hotel will continue trading under its current name until the end of the year. It will then undergo a total refurbishment that will increase its number of rooms.

“It will probably take a year to bring the Victoria Court up to Spicer’s standards,” Jude Turner said. “It will need some redevelopment and a reasonable amount of work, so we will continue to operate it as Victoria Court until the redevelopment is complete.”

The Turners were “immediately attracted” the building’s character and the area’s historical significance, she revealed.

It will be designed with its location in mind – “a chic city retreat with exceptional service” – and will become the eighth property in the growing hotel collection, and its second in New South Wales.
