The Darling at The Star has won international recognition after taking out the title as best international hotel for construction and design in London.

Rising above other award winning hotels from across the globe, the Construction and Design Award, presented in London, recognised the property’s unique and distinctive design following an $870 million redevelopment last year.

Australian Hotels Association chief executive Paul Nicolaou congratulated the hotel for establishing itself as an important player in Sydney’s hotel accommodation market.

“Since opening last year, the Darling has certainly cemented itself a place as one of Sydney’s premier hotels and a major drawcard to the city. It is great to see this officially recognised at the international level,” he said.

The Star will complete the final phase of its redevelopment with a 4000 capacity event and entertainment complex in January next year.
