The great thing about my job is… I really do have the opportunity to take a wide view and make a real difference to specialist events businesses.

The challenge for industry is… To create new and exciting events, and to make them viable.

My greatest achievement is… Being able to really get the Australian major events industry recognised globally as leaders.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… In Sydney, preparing for and presenting some out-of-the-ordinary ideas during the rebuilding of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

I try to relax by… Listening to music, especially smooth jazz.

I don’t understand why… The ‘new’ Asia paper is what many were discussing 15 years ago; Woollahra Council just focus and work with the retailers in Paddington; there are truly one and a half glasses of full cream milk in the chocolate blocks that keep getting smaller.

Currently the album playing on my iPod is… Jamiroquoi, but on my hi-fi!

My favourite venue is… Lincoln Center for arts and jazz.

I am scared to death of… Boredom on TV.

I can’t live without… My little dog Chloe.

Blackberry, iPhone or Android… Galaxy III.

I really wish I had… A Range Rover Evoque, or a Jag!

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be… Ronni Kahn, Carlos Slim, Henry Kissinger and Helen Mirren. I'd also leave a spare seat for Georgia O’Keeffe and have Silvio Berlusconi designated as head waiter!
