The introduction of Sydney’s largest in-house high resolution LED Screen to The Star’s Event Centre is expected to significantly boost the venue’s appeal for corporate events.

The modular screen, which can be custom built in a variety of styles, measures up to 10m by 5.5m and is made up by 220 panels of 5mm LED. It takes only an hour and a half to assemble the full size screen.

The $600k visual package can be used to create a number of effects, including banners and scrolling ticker tape and can also be set up in the Event Centre’s outdoor space, the Sky Terrace.

The Event Centre’s technical manager Ben Whatmore told The Nibbler that a creative consulting suite is being established to enable his team to develop innovative ideas with clients using the new screen and its full range of capabilities.

“Our production team work closely with clients on preparing bespoke digital content to suit and enhance their events,” he said.

“Having used the system on a variety of event styles we can now offer pre rigged and configured LED screens in different ratios for gala dinners, conferences, concerts, meetings, sales kickoffs, product launches and many more.”

The giant screen was first used during Alicia Key’s performance at the venue in December 2013 and has since featured in the ARIA’s and Australian Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTAs).
