AUSSIE FIRST: Quincy Hotel brings Southeast Asian flare to Melbourne

TFE Hotels’ has officially unveiled its first Quincy Hotel in the Aussie market, with the opening of the colourful and eccentric Quincy Hotel Melbourne.

The quintessentially Singaporean brand has designed its first Australian hotel with a distinctly Southeast Asian feel, complete with a rooftop bar and two restaurants that promise to fuse the ‘best of’ Aussies lifestyle with the sights, sounds and flavours of Southeast Asia.

Rolling out a vibrant red-carpet (or, in Quincy’s case, a bunch of giant orange balloons) welcome to the curious social urbanites on Flinders Lane, Quincy Melbourne Hotel general manager Christian Price said what sets the hotel apart as ‘an experiential hotel like no other’ is delightfully two-fold.

“We call it anticipatory hospitality,” he said.

“We want to know what makes our guests tick long before they walk through our doors, providing VVIP service minus the fuss or over-the-top fanfare.”

Hosier Club Room

The striking 29-storey, glass-fronted hotel features 241 boutique rooms fitting the upper midscale hotel category that celebrate individuality and playful design.

In terms of F&B, SingSong eatery offers bubble tea and coffee blends in the morning and Asian-inspired spritzes and bite-sized treats in the evening, with the option of outdoor laneway dining.

The hotel bar and club lounge, Q Bar, offers a lofty outlook over Melbourne’s CBD complete with zesty snacks and cocktails on Level 28, which it shares with a “glistening lap pool”.

And for those looking for something with a little pizzazz, the Salted Egg comes complete with a bespoke bar and authentic Southeast Asian menu, spanning the whole of level one.

The brand is also iconic for its VVIP treatment, with surprise extras such as arrival cocktails, tailored ‘pillow menus’, minibars stocked with kombucha, fresh coconut water and dried Queensland mango, in-room kids’ games or ‘adult’ cooking and cocktail classes and pop-up hallway tables laden with ‘help yourself’ cocktails or mocktails to brighten every day.

Q Bar

Quincy guests can even ‘take home’ gourmet dog treats for their ‘best friends’.

Quincy Hotel Melbourne’s room keys also double as ‘golden tickets’ to the city’s hotspots or secret haunts – providing ‘surprise and delight’ perks like cocktails on the house, complimentary Uber codes or, for families, free access to local attractions.

“For every guest, we’ll always have three or four exclusive options tailored to experiences they love, with a focus on F&B, music and the arts,” Price said.

“All of our guests will also get exclusive gin tastings at Four Pillars distillery in the Yarra Valley – and yes, of course we can take care of organising a day trip. We want to make Quincy Melbourne a fun experience, where no two days – or stays – are ever the same. Like an entertainment complex with rooms attached!”

The Quincy property is the fourth Melbourne hotel opening for TFE within 12 months, following the 206-room Vibe Hotel Melbourne (April 2020), the 220-room Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne Southbank (November 2020) and the 99-room Adina Apartment Hotel West Melbourne (December 2020).
