Business Events Perth is leading the charge in positioning Western Australia as the premier destination for both national and international business events.

In the last financial year, progress gathered momentum off the back of ongoing support from the Western Australian Government via Tourism Western Australia. Results have been outstanding, with Business Events Perth securing a total of over $339 million in Direct Delegate Expenditure, firmly establishing the state as a hub for high-impact business gatherings.

315 confirmed business events are set to take place in Western Australia up until 2030, forecast to generate 277,534 hotel room nights across the state – an impressive 18 per cent increase compared to pre-pandemic levels.

This growth signifies not only recovery but also the state’s rising appeal as a world-class destination for business events.

The influence of WAVES

The success of Western Australia’s business events sector is no coincidence.

Business Events Perth has strategically aligned its goals with the recently launched Western Australia Visitor Economy Strategy 2033 (WAVES), a long-term vision by Tourism Western Australia. The strategy centred around developing a sustainable business tourism sector and strengthening the state’s status as an economic powerhouse within the South-East Asian region. WAVES ensures Western Australia remains competitive, innovative and a sought-after location for leading events from around the world.

Business Events Perth was named Best Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Local) at the 2024 TTG Asia Travel Awards, a prestigious accolade that highlights the collaborative on–ground Team WA approach to excellence in business tourism. This award further solidifies Western Australia’s growing presence on the global stage.
