Buyers arrive in Auckland for MEETINGS
By admin

Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) is preparing for the start of its annual MEETINGS event tomorrow as more than 600 business event and conference organisers converge on Auckland.

Over the course of the next two days, more than 6,000 meetings will take place at the trade show, connecting 185 exhibitors from across New Zealand with more than 620 potential buyers from companies and associations across New Zealand, Australia, China, North America and South-East Asia.

“MEETINGS is essentially a one-stop shop for them where they can see what new products and services are on the market and make business connections within the New Zealand industry that will help make organising their next big conference or event easier,” CINZ new chief executive Sue Sullivan said.

“It is two days of non-stop networking where we get to showcase the very best of what New Zealand has to offer.”

For the first time the exhibition will take place across two large pavilions and will feature a dedicated luxury space called The Luxury Collection.

“Here we’ll be showcasing incentive travel products from boutique lodges through to luxury yachts and gourmet catering,” MEETINGS event manager Jeanette Stanton said.

“Regional convention bureaux will also take centre stage at this year’s show, with seminars and briefings updating buyers about the free expert services and local knowledge they provide.”

Around 56 Australian buyers have been exploring six regions of New Zealand on familiarisation tours over the weekend, with Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) to take international buyers off of a series of post-MEETINGS tours after the event.

The event is organised the support of TNZ and principal sponsor Air New Zealand.
