CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park to host AIME 2022 welcome event

Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), has announced CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park as the official venue to host its 2022 welcome event, to be held on 21 March 2022.

Located only minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, the new venue will welcome delegates from across Australia and New Zealand to AIME’s biggest celebration yet, according to event director Silke Calder.

“The team at AIME and CENTREPIECE have been working behind the scenes to create an experience like no other – designing interesting ways to spark meaningful connections and marvellous event moments,” she said.

“We are beyond excited to reconnect with our friends and community, particularly after a challenging two years faced by our industry.

“We can’t wait to welcome you all in what is sure to be the event of the year – to not only help supercharge business, but also enjoy a well overdue catch-up.”

The new world-class venue will greet delegates by highlighting Melbourne’s wonderful melting pot of arts, cuisine, culture and entertainment.

Guests will be able to immerse themselves in CENTREPIECE’s paddock-to-plate philosophy, with a menu that focuses on fresh Victorian produce and sustainability – highlighting locally sourced seasonal foods, curated within the venue’s state-of-the-art kitchen.

Helping drive the much-anticipated networking event, Laura Reddaway, sales manager of conferences and events at CENTREPIECE, said: “AIME is one of the most important events of the year for our industry, so we couldn’t be more thrilled to help kick off the official celebration.

“After years of planning and construction, 2022 marks the first year we’ll be opening our doors. We can’t wait to welcome you all to Melbourne’s home of extraordinary events and showcase how our venue will shine on the world stage.”

CENTREPIECE’s 2,000-square-metre Grand Hall was designed using cues from the venue’s natural surroundings, and the space is flooded with natural light through its floor-to-ceiling windows that welcome the outside in.

AIME will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21 to 23 March in person, and from 28 March to 1 April online.

It was also recently revealed that Tourism New Zealand will be showcasing at AIME 2022 with not one, but three new convention centres and many new exhibitors.

The impressive line-up includes Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre; Tākina, the Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre; and the much-anticipated New Zealand International Convention Centre in the heart of Auckland city.

Tourism New Zealand’s general manager of domestic and business events, Bjoern Spreitzer, said: “Our industry revolves around meeting face to face, and New Zealand is very excited about returning to AIME and meeting in person again.

“We’ll be turning up with a bigger contingent than last time to showcase what we have to offer the Australian and regional market.”
