Club Med achieves record MICE growth, welcomes new team members

Club Med has announced 120 per cent year-on-year growth for overseas meetings and events.

Christian Noret, meeting and event manager for Club Med Australia and New Zealand, said he expects the demand for overseas meetings and events “will continue to grow significantly”.

“We’re proud of this year’s fantastic results,” he said.

“By offering amazing overseas experiences for clients, many who are time-poor professionals looking to impress and inspire their employees and stakeholders, our comprehensive package ticks all the boxes.”

Club Med maintains its ambition is to grow its MICE business four-fold over the next four years, on top of a minimum of two new resorts opening per year.

With that, Meetings & Events by Club Med has appointed three new team members: Giorgia Pupparo, Silvia Medina and Julie Vouletepsis.

Pupparo joins Club Med as business development executive direct channel, with more than seven years of experience in the luxury hospitality and tourism industry.

She will oversee direct group sales and manage the prospection and development of new client portfolios, while working on corporate and affinity groups including weddings and wellness retreats.

Medina will be employed as business development executive indirect channel.

Hailing from Brazil, where she worked at the Club Med Brazil office for three years as meetings and events account executive, Medina brings extensive knowledge from previous roles in both sales and client services.

After spending the last 10 years expertly managing MICE for the Club Med South Africa office, Vouletepsis joins Meetings & Events by Club Med as account manager.

She will take over the management of all accounts and administrative tasks, working in close collaboration with the sales team.
