Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa has confirmed the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art ballroom and event space for 1 March 2025.

The development, part of a multi-million-dollar refurbishment, will see the resort become the leading destination for business events in Fiji and the South Pacific. This newly unveiled ballroom and conference centre will span 16,576sqm and will be the largest of its kind in Fiji, boasting cutting-edge technology and world-class facilities.

It will offer six versatile event spaces, capable of hosting a wide range of events from corporate conferences and product launches to grand weddings and galas. Its flexible design and adaptable configurations allow for functional layouts that can accommodate both intimate gatherings and large-scale events, catering to the growing demand for modern, sophisticated event spaces in the region. In addition to these world-class facilities, the resort’s outdoor space, overlooking Wailoaloa Beach, provides a stunning backdrop for outdoor corporate events and team building.

Crown Plaza Fiji general manager, Shaun Parsons, expects the new venue to be very popular with booking requests already being made.

“We’re incredibly excited to reveal this significant addition to Crowne Plaza Fiji. It’s been a long time coming, but our new ballroom and event space sets a new standard for MICE venues in the Pacific, so the wait has been worth it,” he said.

“We’ve already received a lot of interest from international businesses that are looking for offsite events and conference spaces for their large teams. There are very few places that can accommodate large scale events like these. When you add in the 10 restaurants and bars and direct pool access suites, you can see why there’s a lot of excitement.”

The refurbishment is a major investment in Fiji’s hospitality and tourism sector, enhancing the island’s appeal as a world-class destination for both business and leisure travellers. With the completion of this renovation, Crowne Plaza Fiji is expected to attract international attention, drawing business travellers and event planners from across the globe.

As part of the resort’s expanded offerings, Crowne Plaza Fiji will also soon debut Urban Sugar beach club, the first of its kind in Fiji. It will offer a space for guests to unwind and enjoy a variety of entertainment options.

“This is not just an investment in Crowne Plaza Fiji; it’s an investment in the future of Fiji as a destination for business and events,” Parsons added.

“We are proud to offer a venue that combines local hospitality with the very best in global standards. This project reaffirms our commitment to supporting Fiji’s economy and strengthening its position on the global MICE map.”
