Crystalbrook Collection appoints GM for Byron at Byron

Crystalbrook Collection has announced that Julian Moore has returned home to Australia to assume the role of general manager at Byron at Byron.

With a hospitality career spanning almost four decades, Moore (pictured above) has spent the past 25 years in senior managerial roles in Australia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the Maldives, Polynesia, the Caribbean, and Vietnam.

He brings a wealth of experience from working for luxury hotel brands including Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Alila Hotels & Resorts, Regent International, Sun International, and Soneva Resorts.

Crystalbrook Collection’s interim CEO and group director of hotels, Geoff York, said: “Julian’s philosophy sits hand in hand with the core values of Crystalbrook Collection and the unique personality and warm hospitality of Byron at Byron.

“We could not think of anyone better suited to lead the much-loved resort into the next chapter of its life.”

Commenting on his appointment, Moore said he was excited to join Crystalbrook Collection due to its strong social, environmental and experiential focus.

“Byron at Byron is a truly special property offering the best of the local area and embracing its natural environment,” he said.

“This role is particularly meaningful for me, as it marks my return to Australia after many years overseas, and I am keen to once again work back home and explore ways to integrate my international experience at such a uniquely Australian destination property.

“To have the privilege of delivering and exceeding a guest’s desire to create a lifetime memory is truly an honour that few have the opportunity to experience and, as such, I believe we must fully commit to the exceptional if we are to truly be a property of choice.”
