In the face of Omicron hindering people’s ability to visit Tassie’s event capabilities firsthand, Business Events Tasmania (BET) launched an informative, online map that guides industry professionals through choosing a venue virtually.

The map gives users an understanding of how Tasmanian cities can be accessed and utilised for event planners and delegates. It includes images and virtual 360-degree tours of the cities’ major conferencing venues and video content to showcase Tasmania’s activities and experiences.

“If there is one thing that we’ve learned over the last two years, is that we have to be agile and flexible,” BET CEO Marnie Craig said.

“This latest online tool fits perfectly into our new suite of digital assets to support conference and event planners make informed decisions.

“We still love to, and want to bring people to our beautiful island to experience Tasmania firsthand, but we understand that industry professionals want options. That’s what we’ve created here.

“Tasmania is so much more than beautiful scenic landscapes and award-winning produce. Our compact cities are easily navigated with conferencing venues, accommodation, offsite options and experiences all often just a short walk or boat ride away. The new website reflects the breadth of what Tasmania has to offer.”

“We’re grateful for the funding support of Tourism Australia and their Business Events Boost Program that sowed the seed, and supported this project,” Craig concluded.
