Fyre Fest 2.0: Kanye West blasted for serving sub-par brunch at Sunday Service

This week, in things that usually only happen in an event planner’s worst nightmares, a celebrity church brunch has had its catering compared with the infamous Fyre Festival’s dismal food situation.

A viral image of an extremely Fyre Fest-esque brunch plate has landed Kanye West and his Sunday Service team in hot water, but it seems the blame was misdirected.

Kanye held one of his famous Sunday Service performances in Baton Rouge last week at a “Brunchella” fundraising event in front of Bethany Church, according to TMZ.

Guests were reportedly charged $55 for a plate of food consisting of pancakes, sausage, and bacon which one attendee posted to social media. Once out in the world wide web, punters began to compare the plate of food to the type of fodder served at the failed Fyre Festival ordeal.

But it seems the blame has been misdirected, with the catering company who supplied the brunch, Lauryn’s Fine Catering telling TMZ it “acknowledges it did not provide adequate food for ONE attendee”.

“Kanye West and the Sunday Service collective should be disassociated with such claims surrounding the food at the event.” the company said.
