Hotel review: Naumi Singapore

The Nibbler’s roving reporter recently got the chance to put their feet up at Naumi Singapore. They even found time to do a review about their stay.

First impression and surrounds

An eclectic hotel nestled into the quaint back streets of Singapore’s CBD, Naumi makes the perfect spot to explore the sights and sounds of this South East Asian mecca.

The Naumi hotel brand prides itself on the creative and individual touches throughout the public spaces and suites. It’s a broad mix of furniture, art and colour that somehow comes together beautifully.

Surrounded by traditional shopfront houses and a mix of local and western eateries, you don’t have to wander far for a bite to eat.

There is a taqueria next door and a bustling local joint on the corner serving everything from coconuts to large fluffy bread buns served with noodles, pork and fried eggs.

Breakfast at Naumi is not to be missed though, with all the usual western offerings along with some quirky additions like shitake mushrooms sautéed with Asian herbs and a hangover station.

Getting there and location

From Changi Airport, you can taxi to Naumi in less than 20 minutes for 20 SGD. It makes a great base to explore local hot spots like The National Gallery, Orchard Street and the Arts Science Museum.

You can reach the iconic Gardens by the Bay in little over 20 minutes walking. I recommend this mission by dusk when the temperature has cooled slightly, and the gardens come alive with a glittering light show.

Naumi is also a mere 10-minute stroll from one of Singapore’s most lively streets: Haji Lane. Where tourist and locals alike weave through the bustling shops ranging from boutiques, to ice coffee stands bars all to the backdrop of some world-class street art.

The room

With a king-size bed with soft linen, a blissful night of rest awaits in the Habitat room with Naumi’s signature four-layer bedding, 300 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and black-out curtains.

Amenities like robes, slippers, Apple TV and Nespresso machine are all included in the room price, meaning you can enjoy morning coffee from the comfort of your bed.

A standout at Naumi is the impeccable service – warm, welcoming staff at the ready with maps and helpful tips, and even a selection of Singaporean sweets including a matcha cake and coconut tapioca.

The rooftop of Naumi is truly a spectacular feature, with ample lounge space, bar and an infinity pool looking out onto Singapore’s impressive skyline.

Cloud 9 is open exclusively to hotel guests from 7am till 6pm, so whether you want to clock some morning laps or read a book or enjoy a sundowner, this little gem can’t be missed.

A little closer, Naumi Hotel Auckland Airport – dubbed ‘the world’s coolest airport hotel’ – has celebrated its first birthday in April.

The hotel is also gearing up for an exciting year ahead, with revamped packages and menus, guests can expect a brand-new menu launch in June.
