Hotel Review – The Grand Hyatt Melbourne

The Grand Hyatt is Melbourne’s very first five-star hotel and has been cutting a majestic figure on the city’s skyline since 1986. Located on Collins street in a hub of chic shops and fine eateries, the perfect spot to explore the city – Although our room was so lovely we never wanted to leave!

Aesthetic 9/10

Walking into the foyer of the Grand Hyatt feels like teleporting to New York City, beaded sculptures stream down from an impossibly high ceiling as a waterfall feature cascades into the lobby. In all honesty, we might have been underdressed!

Old world glamour blends seamlessly with modern elements, where Italian marble staircases meet quirky carpets and angular light fixtures change shape on every floor.

Soft lighting greets you in the adjacent Bistro Bar against a color scheme of warm brown hues. The burgundy leather arm chairs evoking a feeling of a lush den you might like to curl up in with a nice glass of red.

The Room 8.5/10

Each of the 550 guestrooms at the Grand Hyatt offers a custom king-size bed with Egyptian cotton linen, an Italian marble bathtub and walk-in shower. If that isn’t luxury we’re not sure what is.

Boasting the largest hotel gym in the southern hemisphere dubbed City Club, a whole floor is dedicated to this fully serviced gym. Complete with heated pool, sauna, steam room, and the most elegant changing rooms you ever did see.

In true Melbourne style the rooftop is not wasted and features an open-air tennis court and basketball court, you can even practice your golf swing up there!

MICE

As the name would suggest everything about this hotel is grand and of course this doesn’t stop at the MICE facilities. The Nibbler took an exclusive look at the dedicated events floor and we were blown away!

The glamour continues with huge marble pillars and towering doors opening onto grand ballroom spaces capable of catering up to 1,500 people.

Another major benefit of planning your event or conference with the Grand Hyatt is the dedicated events team who are on hand to make sure the event runs perfectly from conception to completion.

You can forget about technological mishaps as every space is equipped with an advanced information technology infrastructure supported by Encore Event Technologies.

Delegates can gaze out at views of the city while being catered to by the full-service catering team who are able to create bespoke menus to suit every event.

Long story short, we will definitely be pitching the Savoy Ballroom for our office Christmas party this year, dreams are free right.
