International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, hosted Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs) and production agencies at its ‘Trust in Partnerships: ICC Sydney Operations Update 2024’ to share event planning best practices yesterday.

The event explored trust as the cornerstone of successful event partnerships – through operational updates covering topics ranging from immersive experiences, keeping people safe, employment law, and delivering low carbon, high social impact events.

ICC Sydney CEO and group director – convention centres, ASM Global (APAC), Geoff Donaghy said the venue team took pride in consistently nurturing respectful, collaborative relationships, paired with world class event services that PCOs and agencies had come to expect from Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment venue.

“In a world fraught with disinformation, geo-political machinations and sustainability challenges, trust has never been more important. At ICC Sydney, we are steadfastly committed to providing innovative services delivered by passionate professionals that event organisers can rely on,” Donaghy said.

“Communication with our clients is one of our core priorities and the latest industry update, driven by ICC Sydney senior business development managers – Dana Fish, Helen Mantellato and Gabriella Alberici, provided an opportunity to connect with our valued event partners – and for our operational and technical experts to share their in-depth knowledge of our ever-evolving services to collaboratively enhance events for both organisers and delegates alike.”

ICC Sydney hosted the Trust in Partnerships initiative while PCO ARINEX simultaneously delivered the BIOMAG International Conference on Biomagnetism alongside Macquarie University at the venue – welcoming 500 delegates, including 80 per cent arriving from outside of Australia.

ARINEX head of conference operations, Melissa Murphy said the venue’s Trust in Partnerships industry update supported knowledge exchange and forward planning of events.

“ICC Sydney has been an outstanding venue partner for ARINEX since their opening in 2016. The support from ICC Sydney’s entire team has always been exemplary and forward thinking, and the latest industry update reaffirms their leadership in innovation and strong commitment to partnering with organisers to deliver premium and engaging event services that our international and local delegates’ demand,” Murphy said.

“Hearing the venue team’s advice regarding best practices all in one forum is integral in the planning of future successful events delivered at ICC Sydney.”

The production agency behind several high-tech events held at ICC Sydney, The Company We Keep Director, Nigel Ruffell said the Trust in Partnerships event gave organisers unprecedented access to planning resources and tools to deliver successful major events at the venue.

“The Company We Keep has long selected ICC Sydney as home to high profile, high impact events on our clients’ behalf. Thanks to the exceptional service and facilities provided by ICC Sydney and this opportunity for open communication and collaboration, we look forward to connecting our clients into their venue management experts, latest innovations and products at our events delivered seamlessly in partnership with ICC Sydney,” Ruffell said.
